Rollin’ rollin’ rollin’
Yesterday’s derby practice was actually quite fun. After my first practice I felt like crap, like I was the weakest skater and the “weakest link”. I had such a long day and I was so tired and so hungry.. once I got home I felt like crying. At that point I was ready to quit. I was thinking I made a huge mistake.
But, I didn’t quit and I went to practice yesterday and I actually knew how to do some of the stuff. And since all I had that day was practice, I got to come home right afterwards, take a shower, eat and relax. Felt much better. I’m still a bit worried about it all but I’m hoping once I get into better shape and once I get more comfortable on skates it won’t be as bad. My derby “big sis” is taking me skating tomorrow so I get some (well needed) extra practice. Hooray!
P.S. I got glasses for night driving and watching TV. I’ve never had glasses before. It’s quite fun to have HDTV actually be HDTV..
California road trip
This past week I:
- Hiked a bit in the beautiful Sequoia Forest
- Looked at an AMAZING night sky
- Met a friend of 7 years in person for the first time ♥
- Went to Monterey Bay Aquarium (the sea otters were adorable)
- Saw wild elephant seals (!!!)
- Watched the sunset by the ocean
- .. enjoyed life to the fullest
Yes, it was a pretty amazing trip.

We bought a new dining table, it should be here sometime in December! It’s the ‘District Dining Table’ from Crate & Barrel. The top is acid-washed galvanized iron sheet and the base is solid wood. It’s so pretty, mm. We didn’t buy the chairs because, well, they’re horrible.
So the vegan toe guards I ordered..
The seller was out of the faux leather she used and her supplier was out as well. So she gave me an option to either pick white or red instead of black or get my deposit back.. so I got my deposit back and now I’m waiting for her to get something from which to make vegan toe guards! It’s a little annoying I have to wait even longer, since my skates are already getting scuffed up, but oh well, can’t help it.
